Year 8: Statistics and Probability

This strand introduces new ways to represent and analyse data and probability.

Statistics: Students learn to represent and analyse data using Venn diagrams and two-way tables. They also investigate the effect of outliers (unusual data points) on the mean and median.

Probability: Students investigate complementary events (e.g., the probability of an event happening vs. not happening). They use Venn diagrams and two-way tables to model situations and calculate probabilities.
